5 Reasons Why I Love Package Tours

Just like many other seasoned travelers, I get a lot of enjoyment out of organising my trips away. It’s the best way of seeing the world – of that there is no doubt. However, every now and again it’s nice to let someone else do all the hard work for you. While it might surprise some of you out there who have been reading my blog for a while, it’s time to let my big secret out. I love the occasional package tour. Here are five reasons why.

Stress-free

When you travel as much as I do, it eats up into a lot of your time. All the planning, booking flights, and contacting hotels and people in another country takes time – and costs money. So, having a break from all of that is a holiday in itself. Getting someone else to organise it all for you can be a breath of fresh air. And, there are also times when they will reveal something about your destination that you would otherwise have missed.

Options galore

I have a set list of go-to tour operators that I use all of the time. However, it’s a very personal thing. Some companies will suit me more than they will you, and vice versa. There are so many options out there, and all package tours are different. For example, families might want to check out www.activitiesabroad.com. Or you could look into a wildlife specialist if you wish to go on safari – whatever you are into, there will be someone out there who has the perfect trip.

Great value

OK, so not all package holidays are good value – and some are quite the opposite. However, once you understand how to play the game, you will be able to get more out of them. Bear in mind that tour operators make much of their money from the extras that they provide, rather than the holiday itself. So, if you are wise to those schemes, then your holiday could give you some great value, with reductions to hotels and flights.

Flexible

Nobody forces you to do things that you don’t want to do on a package holiday. Yes, there may be rules about timing when you go out for an activity day, but they are only in place for your safety. The truth is that you can pick and choose what you want to do and when you want to do it. You can go off and investigate other things instead, and don’t have to stay with the group if you don’t want to.

Relaxing

Ultimately, my love for the package tour stems from the fact that they are so relaxing. There is a lot to be said for just enjoying a holiday and not having to take care of anything yourself. Don’t get me wrong, I love getting out there and seeing the world on my terms. But it’s a lot of work, regardless of whether it’s enjoyable or not. And when it comes to relaxing, a great package tour is where it’s at.
