This quieter season is considered to be, between May and November. Alongside saving money, there are other benefits to travelling at this time of the year, including less tourists and more available staff.

Behave like a Local- Although you are on holiday, the easiest way to save money is to eat like the locals, and enjoy their lifestyle. Traditional Thai food is far cheaper than the western food that is on offer, and you have nothing to lose by joining in with the locals. You will soon discover how friendly they are, and you may even receive offers of accommodation and rides to see the sights.

Choose Water- you will be amazed how cheap bottled water is in Thailand, and it is the best choice for a refreshing drink. If possible buy larger bottles as these are cheaper, and many tourist places offer free water. Take advantage and have a long, refreshing drink whilst exploring what Thailand has to offer. If you do want any other beverages buy them in local stores, and avoid the tourist area shops.

People Watch- there is plenty to watch on the streets of Thailand, ensuring that you can avoid te expensive bars and clubs. You will be as entertained sat on the side of the road watching the locals go about their day to day lives. There are often street performers entertaining the tourists, and for some loose change you can be kept amused for hours.

Planning– you need to make sure that when you are looking at holidays to Thailand that you budget for everything. Take enough money to last the trip as bank charges and money transfers can be high in foreign countries. You should keep track of what you are spending, and control the urge to overspend as this can lead to problems.

Haggling- is something that the locals expect, and you will be amazed at the amount you can save when you haggle. Everything can be reduced even hotel rates and tickets for attractions, which is why you need to be confident. There is no harm in asking, and you will be amazed at how much you can save.
